Websites·Web Apps
Website design that earns its keep.
Designed and built in Leigh-on-Sea - on WordPress or custom-coded, depending on who will be updating it - then hosted and looked after so your website stays fast, secure and found.
What you get
Web development built around how you'll run it.
There are two honest ways to build a website, and the right one depends on you. If you want to update the site yourself, we build on WordPress and style it to the design - everything stays editable in your hands. If you'd rather leave the updates to us, we build custom-coded sites with nothing underneath them you don't need.
- Designed around your business, not picked from a theme gallery
- WordPress when you want to edit it yourself
- Custom-coded when the updates stay with us
- One fixed price either way, agreed before anything starts

Every website build includes
None of this is an extra - every website we build leaves with all of it as standard.
We take what you love and what you hate, then build a proposed theme and layout to approve - no weeks lost to flat mockups.
The desktop and mobile device layouts each get real design time, both built with conversions in mind - never one squeezed to fit the other.
Proper headings, alt text, keyboard-friendly menus and readable contrast, built against WCAG 2.2 at level AA.
Every image compressed, converted to modern formats and sized for where it sits, so pages stay quick on any connection.
Built lean, then optimised further for fast loading - then run through Google PageSpeed before launch to prove it.
Page titles, descriptions and image alt text on every page, written for what your customers actually search.
Designed responsive and tested on real phones and tablets, not just resized down in a browser window.
Every site goes through Ahrefs, Google PageSpeed and Search Console, so issues are caught before they cost visitors.
Visitor counting with a compliant cookie choice, set up in every build, so you can see what's working.
Video training until you're comfortable editing your own site, with help staying just a call away afterwards.
Every site we host is protected at the server: daily malware scans, a firewall and brute-force login protection, with FTP locked down. WordPress sites also come with a security plugin installed.
You own the domain, the content and the site. We manage it to save you time and effort until such a time as you want to take over.
Secure, fast hosting with a global CDN
Hosting with us is optional - and most clients take it, because the person who built the site knows how to best provide hosting for it.
Served securely from UK servers and cached at nodes around the world. Based in another country? Not to worry, the CDN means it's as fast in Sydney as in Southend.
Site files, databases and every email account backed up on a rolling timeline, so there is always a good copy to go back to with just a few clicks. No setup needed, backups done automatically.
The server kept updated, optimised and scanned around the clock, so problems are caught before they become outages.
Five email addresses included with every hosting account - and room to add more whenever the business grows. Unlimited email forwarders, autoresponders and catchall ability.
Built with speed, site health and SEO in mind
A website nobody finds is a brochure in a drawer. Every site we build leaves with the on-page basics done properly: clean structure, fast pages, titles and descriptions written for real searches, alt text on the images, and a pass through Ahrefs, PageSpeed and Search Console before launch.
When you want to go further, being found is a service in its own right: ongoing search engine optimisation, setting up and optimising your Google Business Profile so you appear on the map when someone nearby searches, and preparing your site for AI search - because people now ask ChatGPT and Google's AI results the questions they used to type into a search box.
These are additional services, priced for the job in hand - ask about them when we talk about the build.

Ecommerce, bookings and web apps
If you need more than a brochure site, we build the working parts too. Ama's Rustic Pantry sells its handmade chutneys through an online shop we built on our own ecommerce plugin, with Stripe checkout and the jar labels to match. The Society of Fine Art Auctioneers and Valuers has a members' login for e-learning courses plus a searchable directory. Copeland Counselling's clients can book their own sessions and complete their forms through a private portal. Kuradash is a full real-time bi-directional text therapy platform with end-to-end encryption. All of them designed, built and looked after by Bang! Graphics.
If your site needs to do a job - sell, book, teach, manage members - that is a conversation we have had many times before. We have even written our own WordPress plugins for two of those jobs: Bang! Cart for Stripe checkout, and Bang! Invites for invite-only registration.
How a website project works
A conversation first. A fixed price before anything starts, and a working theme and layout to approve before the full build.
A conversation
After the deposit is paid and contract signed, we learn what the business does, who it's for, and what your measure of success is. What do you like? What do you dislike? Over phone, on video or in person - we pin down your goals, which convert into our mission.
Theme and layout
We take your examples - likes and dislikes - and turn them into a proposed theme and layout. Expect the homepage designed: the real thing to play with in a browser. We're there to offer advice on content and design, and nothing goes further until you approve it.
Build
All content - pictures and text - comes from you, unless we're asked to perform copywriting duties. The site is then built on the agreed route, a Content Management System (WordPress) or custom-coded to your specification, with speed, accessibility and SEO in mind.
Launch, then care
Once signed off, we go live on our hosting with a free CDN (fast anywhere in the world), SSL, backups, maintenance and malware scans - looked after by the person who built it. Got your own host? Great! We can pop the site up there for you, although aftercare is theirs.
Web design from Southend-on-Sea to far beyond
We have been designing and building websites since 2008 - from Thailand first, then our hometown of Leigh-on-Sea. Leigh-on-Sea, Westcliff, Southend, Hadleigh and Rayleigh are all on the doorstep, and we are glad of it. But a website does not much care where it was built: we work with businesses right across the UK, and further out where there is a connection. Our client list runs from the Essex coast to beaches in Thailand, the great US of A and Australia. Remote working has meant the world is far more accessible than ever before, but if you are local it just means we can sit across a table from you.
If you're nearby, the first conversation can be face to face over a coffee. If you're not, it's a video call - most of our longest-standing clients have never needed to be in the same room, although we often do meet eventually :-)

Abi HoweGoogle reviewWe got Andy at Bang! Graphics to create our wedding invites and they are amazing. We weren't very good at giving him ideas - he asked us a set of questions to get an idea of what we wanted, but we weren't completely sure ourselves, so we were quite vague.
Andy didn't have a lot to go on apart from a colour and a couple of images from Google that I liked, yet he managed to create a base for us to go from, which was lovely. Our theme was emerald green and the invites were perfect - not over the top. Andy also helped us out a lot with the wording too. We didn't actually change that much from his first draft as he pretty much nailed it first time!
Andy was incredibly patient and great to work with. We would definitely recommend him to anyone needing help designing something.

Gareth HallsworthClearFirst Pest Control SolutionsGoogle reviewI can't recommend Andy and Bang! Graphics highly enough. He has helped me with several aspects of my business since start up, including designing my logo and letterhead, as well as creating and managing my website and web hosting.
What I particularly appreciate is how easy he is to deal with. Andy takes the time to understand what I'm looking for, is always happy to make changes or offer advice, and nothing ever feels like too much trouble. The finished work has always been professional and exactly what I was hoping for.
It's also great having someone I can rely on for everything from my branding and logo design through to my website and hosting, rather than having to deal with different people for each job.
If you're looking for someone friendly, reliable and genuinely good at what they do, I'd definitely recommend Andy.

Annalisa HerveChaseway Lane BotanicalsGoogle reviewAndy has been looking after my website for many years, following a recommendation from a colleague of mine, it's the best thing I've done! His devotion to website management is second to none; attention to detail being one of his many qualities.
Whenever he runs his regular security updates, he always tests my website then contacts me to let me know what he's done. When he gently suggested that my old aging website could do with a freshen up, he walked me through the entire process with the patience of a saint. He redesigned it within my budget and has made my new website look amazing. Andy very quickly recognised that I am a bit of a Luddite when it comes to anything computer related and has very kindly been to my house to streamline my emails on my laptop and phone. Whenever I've yelled for help, he's responded within the hour - often fixing the problem at the same time. Looking back through my emails to him, it seems all of my "sent" emails have the words "thank you so much". Do what I did - get Andy to sort your website out, you won't regret it.

Ella JenningsGoogle reviewI worked with Andy on a new website build a year or so ago. Not only is he really knowledgeable and good at what he does, he's actually a great person to work with - he made the whole process super easy, communicated well, and put up with all our last-minute changes. Highly recommended!

Rani ViknarajaAma's Rustic PantryGoogle reviewAndy has been working on several aspects of our chutney business matters and his work has been exemplary! Andy's web design with a logo to our specification and appropriate choice of colors and images is awesome and has been commented on by several family members and friends.
We also have a personalized email which was set up by Andy. Although Andy doesn't usually do designs for labels, he did ours and in fact the company that printed the labels were very impressed with the design! Andy went a step further and designed our business cards and compliment slips to make a lasting impression. We will recommend Andy/Bang Graphics with absolutely no hesitation!

Helen CarlessThe Society Of Fine Art Auctioneers and ValuersGoogle reviewAndy re-designed our Society's website. On time and on budget. From the beginning he was meticulous in making sure he had understood the brief.
He offered very sensible advice and was able to talk in "layman's language". He is very patient! We had to overcome some issues with the integration of two sites which meant some extra hurdles and Andy took the time to make sure he had found the correct solution. He is a perfectionist but if something is going to overrun the budget he is scrupulous about referring back before he incurs extra expense. I have absolutely no hesitation in recommending him.

Website questions
How much does a website cost?
It depends entirely on what it has to do - which is why the first question is never "how many pages" but "what's the job". More importantly we will ask, "what does success in this build look like for you?". The website needs to solve a problem, not just be a pretty online front of house. Most builds land between £2,500 and £6,000 - a single landing page is less, a members' area or a shop may be more. You get a fixed price before anything starts; half up front is requested to begin work.
How long does a website take?
We usually ask for four to eight weeks after we have received all content. The build is rarely what decides how long it takes - the words and pictures coming back from the client are often what slows a project. If you are ready to go, the time scale can be potentially shorter than four-eight weeks. A project outline would allow us to know what is involved and how long it may take. In any case, we will make every effort to deliver as quickly as possible.
What do you need from me?
Words and pictures, and examples of sites you love and hate - that tells us more in ten minutes than a brief does in ten pages. If you have a company brand document, send that over too. If writing the copy is the bit you dread, say so early and we will quote for writing it alongside the build.
WordPress (CMS), or something custom?
Whichever fits your needs. Some businesses need their employees to be able to edit everything themselves and an environment that allows them to move between developers easily - that points one way, a CMS (Content Management System) like WordPress. Some need speed, security and a site that never nags for updates - that points another, a purpose-built static site. We'll tell you which may suit you and why, before any money moves.
Will I be able to update it myself?
If you want to, sure! That's when you'll want a CMS (Content Management System) like WordPress. The parts you'll actually change - prices, pictures, opening hours, news - are under your control. If you wish to update the core, theme or plugins, go ahead - this is what we would do in a maintenance plan though, and if you do it, you take responsibility. We are on hand if something goes wrong in the first 30 days after site completion. After that we are happy to help and potentially get you back online, although at our hourly rate.
Do you build shops and member areas?
Yes - members' areas, e-learning, e-commerce (shops), client portals and booking are running today on sites we have built and look after. Our initial chat with you will drill down on what is required from the goals that you have, then the advanced functionality can be built with those goals in mind.
I already have a site. Can you work with that?
Usually, yes. Sometimes the honest answer is that rebuilding may cost less than repairing, and if that's the case we'll say so rather than quietly billing for both. If you just want a new web host, we can move your website and email over at no additional cost and either give you hosting access or manage it for you.
Do you write the words for me?
Content usually comes from you, because you know the business better than we do. If writing it is the part you dread, say so early and we can quote for the copywriting alongside the build.
Who owns the website when it's finished?
You do. As soon as the final bill is paid and the contract fulfilled - the domain, the content and the site itself are yours and they stay yours. We manage them to save you the time and effort, for as long as that suits you.
Will my website show up on Google?
Every build leaves with the on-page work done properly: clean structure, fast pages, titles and descriptions written for what your customers actually search, alt text on the images, and a pass through Ahrefs, PageSpeed and Search Console before launch. That foundation is included in the price. We even create an analytics account and will share with you so you can see how your website is performing. Going further is a service in its own right - ongoing search engine optimisation, setting up and optimising your Google Business Profile, and preparing the site for AI search. All can be done to help your business, although they would be additional services.
What happens after the site goes live?
We are on hand for 30 days to help with any issues, although every effort will be made to ensure there aren't any. After that, you can either let us deal with your website content updates for a fee or you can choose to complete them yourself. If you want to learn, we will send you videos to follow after launch so that you can get comfortable editing the site yourself. Most clients take our hosting - so SSL, Timeline Backups, server maintenance, malware scans are all handled by the person that built the site and knows it best. If you have your own hosting though, not a problem - we can move over from our servers to yours when you are ready. Ongoing website and server maintenance is then down to you, or your hosting provider.
Is the site accessible?
Yes, and it is built that way from the start rather than checked at the end - proper heading structure, alt text on images, menus you can reach with a keyboard, readable contrast, and forms a screen reader can follow. We build against WCAG 2.2 at level AA, which is the benchmark used to judge whether a business has made the reasonable adjustments the Equality Act asks for. If you sell into the EU, the European Accessibility Act has applied since June 2025 and makes it a harder requirement again. Certifying a site formally against that standard is a separate piece of work, done by a person rather than a scanner - tell us early if you need it and the build is planned around it.
Is my website secure?
Every WordPress build ships with a security plugin in place, wherever it ends up hosted. On our hosting that is backed by server-side security, with malware scans running daily, the server kept patched and maintained, and SSL on every account. On a static build that server-side layer is the whole of it, and on WordPress it sits on top of the plugin. A static site does give an attacker less to aim at, though depending on the technologies behind it, it can still need testing in depth. Backups are run on a rolling timeline covering the site files, the database and every mailbox - so if something ever does go wrong, there is always a good copy to go back to.
Do you only work with businesses in Essex?
No. We are in Leigh-on-Sea, and if you are nearby the first conversation can happen over a coffee - but the client list runs from the Essex coast to Thailand, Australia and the United States. Most of our longest-standing clients have never needed to be in the same room. In the age of remote working and the world feeling more connected than ever, we are delighted to work with people and companies from all countries.
Will my website work on phones?
Yes, and it gets real design time rather than being an afterthought. Around six in ten website visits worldwide now come from a phone, so both the desktop layout and the mobile one are designed properly. Before launch the site is checked on real devices as well as online tools replicating the major handsets and operating systems, so it holds up whichever way somebody arrives. It matters commercially as much as visually - a business site that is awkward on a phone loses the enquiry there. We make every effort to stop that from happening.
What will it cost me after launch?
You will be made aware of all ongoing costs before the build starts so that you can make an informed decision on the type of build and the maintenance going forwards. The build price is fixed before work starts, and it covers the build. Aftercare may well be important and will be discussed so that nothing comes as a surprise. After that there are a few things that can carry a cost, and you choose which of them you want. Website hosting is £240 a year. That covers SSL, Daily Timeline Backups, malware scans, server maintenance, five mailboxes and the worldwide CDN. Extra mailboxes are £5 a month each. Maintenance is charged per update rather than per month - £40 on the live site, £90 on a staging copy, £120 for a complex build that needs a fair amount of testing. How often you want one is your call. Content changes are yours to make for nothing, or ours to make for a fee. We are on hand free for the first 30 days after launch; after that, help with something that has gone wrong is at our hourly rate. Search engine optimisation, Google Business Profile work and preparing a site for AI search are services in their own right and are priced for the job. Moving an existing site and its email over to us is free.
When and how do I pay?
Before we start a project we will provide a contract and deposit invoice, which will be 50% of the total fee. A set of milestones will be sent to you and if we meet them without slow down from your side or ours ... the project will complete on time. Before the site goes live, final payment is requested to mark the end of the work and formal relinquishment of the files. This applies to web, graphics and video. For hosting services, this is asked for upfront for the coming year.
What if I do not like the design?
We will have spent time on finding out what you like and what you like less to ensure that the design being made ticks the appropriate boxes. Namely, sticking to the agreed colour palette, your preferred style and is laid out in a way that has your key outcome in mind. That may be sales, enquiries or newsletter signups. If we haven't managed to hit the mark with the design after all of the above has been based on your initial requirements, we will speak again about what you feel is missing or needs changing. We can then adapt what has been made.
Can I see it before it goes live?
Most certainly. The site will be built on a development server that you will have access to when viewing is ready.
Do I need a domain name, and do I own it?
Yes a domain name is required. We can arrange to buy and manage this for you for a small fee (domain purchase and admin fee) or you can purchase yourself and handle the DNS (Domain Name System) settings. Either way, you own it for the period that it has been bought for, with renewals happening at a timescale depending on the period you purchased for. If you bought one year then it would be yearly, for example.
Do I have to sign a contract?
A contract is created at the start of any job. It will outline the key parts of the job and what is expected from both sides. Also payment terms. It is required as it protects both the provider and the client.
This is my first website. Where do I start?
We can help you to come up with a plan to follow so that your side of things can be smooth sailing. Content and images usually come from the client but the layout and structure of the site will come from our years of experience. As such, we can give you instructions on what is needed and where it would go. This will save you a lot of time creating the parts that you need to do.
What about GDPR and cookies?
Every build ships with analytics set up and a cookie choice that asks properly rather than assuming, and it is included rather than an extra. Nothing non-essential runs until the visitor has said yes, and withdrawing that consent is as easy as giving it. Having built the site, we know what it is made of and what it collects, and we can write that down for you. It is the part most people get stuck on, and it gives you the basis for your privacy policy, cookie policy and terms. What we cannot do is tell you whether your business is compliant, or take responsibility for those pages. They have to cover how your business handles people's information away from the website as well as on it, and that is a legal question rather than a design one. The final call there is yours.
Who supplies the photos?
Images usually come from the client. One important point is that the correct licence is held in order to use the images. Either bought from reputable sources online OR even better - take the images yourself. If you are not able to take high quality images, and do not have the budget to purchase, we can give direction on where to find royalty free images. You may find difficulty finding specific pictures on royalty free sites though.
When can you start?
Planning can start straight away. What usually decides the date is how quickly your words and pictures come together, and that is on your side rather than ours. We would look at the work diary and tell you when the full build can begin, so you know how much time you have to get your part ready. Some parts of the year are busier than others, so it is worth asking at the time and we will give you an honest answer rather than a hopeful one. Quite often we are already working on the planning, wireframes and site structure while you are gathering content, so very little time is wasted waiting.
Ready to talk about your site?
Thirty minutes on Google Meet. The call is where we work out what the site actually has to do - the fixed price follows once we both know that.
The call is with Andy, the person
who will primarily be working on your project.
