Case study·Voiceover
A website, a logo and somewhere to press play for a British voiceover artist.
RizzoVoice, run by Annette Rizzo. She came to us because her previous provider had stopped answering her emails in a timely fashion. Delayed response can signal a lack of interest. We moved her website and her email across for nothing, and have rebuilt the site twice since.
She came to us because nobody was answering
Annette had a website and somebody looking after it, and the somebody had stopped replying to her emails quickly. I'm not talking days ... she was waiting weeks or more and having to chase up for simple requests.
Migrations are free here, her website and her email came across at no charge, and what she paid for that first year was the hosting, the same as anybody else pays.
We had already designed a website for her many years before, on her old hosting but it had problems. The major one being that it was not and never had been mobile responsive. By 2018, that was a big problem. We made a new site for her that brought her bang up to date. There was a brand issue too, she didn't really have one!
Brand awareness where visuals aren't usual
The logo redesign was her idea and it came after the website rather than before it. A voice is the one thing a brand cannot show, so the job was to build something that stands in for it and she can be recognised from.

Our website build
WordPress, on a theme created for this brand. No pre-built themes here! The job of the page is to get somebody listening inside a few seconds. Scroll through it, or go and see the real thing.
A voiceover site has one job no other kind of site has: it has to get someone listening, quickly. The showreels sit on the homepage as players rather than as links to somewhere else, split by the kind of work - commercial, corporate narration, on-hold and IVR, e-learning, explainers - so somebody casting for one particular read can find it and hear it without leaving the page or downloading anything.
Below them sit the video showreels, and a set of tabs carrying the things a producer checks before booking: how she works, what is in the studio, and who she has recorded for. Her agent, her industry affiliations and her terms are all where somebody would go looking for them rather than buried on pages of their own.
The page has purpose, listen ... then contact via the form.
Rebuilt twice, and both times we said so first
The site that came across was actually one we had built a few years before. The usual time to start to replace a website is every 3-5 years so when it felt like the time, we suggested a new build to make the site run faster. The previous method for audio players was also now out of development and had become a security risk. Both good reasons to think about a rebuild.
The second rebuild fixed these issues. Newer technology underneath, a faster site on top, and a build drawn around the audio, her bread and butter.
Two rebuilds across a relationship this long is not many. A website has a working life, and a client is better off hearing that from the people looking after it than finding out from their own visitors.
Under the bonnet
The website, the web hosting, the email and the domain all sit with us, and maintenance runs monthly. One place to ask, and nobody to pass her between.
Hosting includes SSL, Timeline Backups of the site and its database, malware scanning and server maintenance, with edge caching through our CDN so a page is served from a node near whoever is reading it. That matters more here than on most sites: a casting director auditioning ten voices in an afternoon will not wait for a showreel to buffer.
It is WordPress, so the words and the showreels stay hers to change. In practice she asks, which is what most clients do and is no trouble at all.
We coded her email signature too, and we help her install it whenever it needs doing / changing - HTML signatures on a Mac are more awkward than they ought to be. It takes a few minutes at this end and saves her an hour at hers, so we are happy to help. None of that appears on an invoice.
Sometimes all a client wants is reliable contact
Free migration is not a loss leader. It is the least risky way for two people to find out whether they can work together, and it puts nothing at stake for the person moving. In this instance we knew Annette from before but the practice is still the same, she wanted someone responsive. We delivered, and have continued to do so since 2018.
In her own words
Annette RizzoRizzoVoiceGoogle reviewAndy at Bang! Graphics did an excellent job, designing and building my website. I was so delighted, I also asked him to redesign my logo.
Then I ended up moving everything across to Bang!: email, hosting, managing and updating the site, the lot. He is incredibly responsive - if I have a question or a problem, he answers straight away and nothing is too much trouble. Highly recommended!

Moving a website and email over costs nothing. If that includes a new build, all the better! Get in touch and let's see if we can work together.
